Christian Wedding Cds

question about a wedding?

ok My roommate and I were invited to this wedding in the yard today. Actually at my grandmother’s house and my uncle’s we don’t feel comfortable going because they are high class people and we are not. Although we would give you the shirt of our backs. Anyway I feel really bad not going but why should we go and feel like we are the wrong piece to the puzzle. How can we feel better about not going. I told my grandmother we had the bug. But I feel guilty lying. My grandmother invited us so we would not feel left out. I know this is the reason. I asked my uncle if he could put $10 on his credit card last week and I would give it to him and he didn’t even reply. It was for christian cd’s that was $20 if I didn’t have the credit card. Should we feel bad not to go. Should I of told the truth? How do we not feel depressed today?

The bigger question is how do you feel about the bride and the groom? Do you want to share their day?

If these people are important to you, then go. It’s their day and you were invited because they want you to share.

High class doesn’t come from money. I have known a lot of rich people (and I mean REALLY rich) who had no class at all! And I have met dirt poor people who had so much class and good manners that they fit in anywhere.

Class comes from inside. Smile. Be polite. Ask people about themselves (they will think you’re a wonderful person for asking!). Listen.

If you can’t bring yourselft to put yourself out there, you can go and sit quietly…you are there for the bride and groom.

Now, if you don’t like the bride or groom, that’s a different matter. Guilt shouldn’t push you into doing something that’s uncomfortable (don’t confuse this with the money thing). If this is the case, then be politely honest to your host/hostess and simply say, “I’m sorry, but I don’t think we’ll be able to attend.” No other reason is necessary (and, by the way, the more excuses you make, the worse it will get…people know that the more you talk, the more chance you’re making things up).

If you go, what about the gift? If you are in school or just getting started, the bride and groom know this. They won’t be expecting a major gift from you. If they really are nice people (and, of course, isn’t this why you’re going in the first place?), they’ll be more impressed with your “presence” than your “presents”.

Do something personal. Give them “gift certificates” for washing their cars, helping with projects around the house, babysitting (if applicable), homecooked meals, etc. You can always make a mix CD of their favorite songs. That kind of effort shows that you put some thought into a gift and didn’t do the “cash in the envelope” thing.

Good luck. You’ve got more class than you know!
